How does Scrabble Solver work?
Enter the letters from your rack into Scrabble Solver and hit Solve. In Default mode, it finds words made from some or all of those letters and displays the longest results first. Open Advanced when you need a more specific search.
Does Scrabble Solver return every possible word?
It searches every matching entry in the selected dictionary using your entered letters and active options. The first results concentrate on longer words, so use Load More to continue through the shorter matches. It cannot return names, phrases or words that are absent from the selected list.
Which dictionary should I choose?
Choose Scrabble - English US for North American Scrabble, Scrabble - English UK for Collins-style international play, or Words With Friends for that game's vocabulary and tile values. Everything is the broadest list for general word puzzles, but not every result will be valid in a particular game.
How do I use blank tiles or wildcards?
Enter a question mark (?) for each blank tile, or tap Add ?. A question mark can represent any one letter and is not tied to its typed position. Scrabble Solver supports up to three blank tiles, and a substituted blank scores zero points.
What is the difference between a question mark and a dash?
A question mark (?) represents a blank tile that may become any letter wherever it is needed. A dash (-) represents one unknown letter in that exact position and activates Pattern Mode. For example, SO--ER can match SOLVER.
What is the maximum number of letters I can enter?
The normal solver accepts up to 12 characters, including blank tiles. Rack letters and Hook Letters share that 12-character limit. Contains, Begins With and Ends With searches can return matching words containing up to 16 letters.
Does every result have a definition?
Words returned from the official Scrabble dictionaries have definitions. The Everything list is broader and some of its results do not have a definition. Tap a result to open its word page and see what is available.
Why is a word missing or rejected by my game?
Word games and regional editions use different dictionaries. Check that the selected dictionary matches your game, that repeated letters were entered the correct number of times and that no search option is excluding the word. A word accepted internationally may still be rejected in North American Scrabble, and vice versa.
How are the word scores calculated?
The displayed score is the basic value of the letter tiles in the selected game. Blank tiles count as zero. The score does not include premium squares, crossing words or a bonus for using every tile, so the highest displayed score is not necessarily the best move on the board.
Is Scrabble Solver free to use?
Yes. The main solver is free and supported by advertising. Scrabble Solver Pro removes the advertising and provides a clean, distraction-free experience for subscribers.
Do I need to accept cookies to use Scrabble Solver?
The basic solver works without optional advertising cookies. Subscribers must allow Scrabble Solver's essential first-party login cookie so the site can recognize them and keep them logged in. The cookie help page can test the browser and explain common causes of login problems.
Can I install Scrabble Solver as an app?
Scrabble Solver is an installable website, also known as a progressive web app. Depending on the browser and device, the option may be called Install or Add to Home Screen. It creates an app-style shortcut without requiring a separate native app from an app store. See the device instructions.
